Dr. Jeff Ekery is a third generation El Pasoan. After completing his undergraduate studies at UTEP and UT Austin, he received his Doctor Optometry degree in 1973 from the University of Houston College of Optometry. Since then he has been certified in all aspects of treatment and diagnosis of eye disease.
In private practice since then, Dr. Ekery has been providing family vision care with a special emphasis on treatment and detection of eye disease. He practices the full scope of Optometry and provides complete eye care, including routine eye examinations, prescribing of contact lenses, and the treatment of eye diseases. He has also undergone extensive training in Refractive Surgery or LASIK and has been certified by VISX. Dr. Ekery is a clinical associate of New Vision Laser Center in El Paso where heserves as Assistant Clinical Director and assists with surgeries on an ongoing basis.
He has also been active in numerous professional and civic organizations. Among them is the Board of Directors of the Texas Optometric Association, Leadership El Paso, Yucca Council Boy Scouts, Light House for the Blind, President of Prevent Blindness, past President of the El Paso Optometric Society
